That Was Then – This Is Now

Far back into the centuries up to the late 70’s a woman couldn’t step over a man if he was lying down, not even if he was sitting on a chair with his feet stretched out. A few women tried it back then and got kuff if that. Men wouldn’t even take up a woman panties off a clothes line even when it was washed clean and placed there. The few men who would do that, had to hide and do it. If anybody ever saw them doing so they would critized them, laughed at them and called them names, such as “worthless man”. Yes they would be called all kind of names for any such actions. Few women had problems with it then. Some asked, while some wondered; how a man refused to hold a woman’s panty when it is clean, yet he holds it and takes it off her in that intimate moment? Wonder if those men had missed out on anything? If they only knew the blessing that salt ting brings they would never stay away. Now a days most people do not make any bones about it. Some men want banana peel while some women like to be swiped. Beal and Janet have problem with it. They don’t want anybody down there. When asked why? They replied “you mean mouth?” “You must be crazy. ” Nothing with teeth. Next thing them go bite me. A younger version said, ” A nuh all a Dem have teeth; some a Dem a so Suh gum. They both replied. “No, next ting them go squeeze me with it”. They said that they heard a song where a young girl was singing,” A gwaan squeeze you wid it ooh ooh, I gwaan squeeze you wid it. Another young version said, ” No the song never said that. It said, I gwaan kill you with it. With both hands clapsed and held firm between their knees, they both turned as if they were in pain or was afraid and said, as if they had rehearsed like a chorus. ” Kill? No that even worse”. Well, was it said that 30 years is one generation and culture change in 30 years and even the climate takes thirty years to study it pattern/s? This yah generation change long before that. Let your grand parents tell you what their grant parents told them back then. The young girls use to wear some long underwear like bloomers which had strings to the waist and both legs and was tied by their parents. They could not pull it and whenever they wanted to use the bathroom they had to go to them to pull it. The question is supposed the parents were not home, how did they manage? Another question is what about when they were in school? Did they have to wait till they got home? A young lady back then could not sit with her legs apart. She had to keep her legs closed. Them people deh would go to an early grave if they were here today. Now a days it is ” To the ladies, all ladies coming from the microphone, wine and bruck out. Skin out gal. Wine gal, do the head top, do the head top, women split flat Pon floor with both legs spread as wide apart as they can go; A girl head down while male held both her feet wide apart while he spined her around then lifted her up and placed her in on his shoulder/s. Back in the days it was, ” Put your head on my shoulder, baby” Now it is put my ass on your shoulders. Weh you deh?
